Bela Szentpali is a native of Budapest, Hungary. He received the Dipl. Physicist degree from the Eoetvoes Lorand University, Budapest in 1967, and the CS. Degree in electronics from the Scientific Qualification Board of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1980. In the next year he obtained the Dr. Tech. degree from the Technical University, Budapest.
In 1968 he joined to the Research Institute for Technical Physics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, where he is still working. Since 1975 he leaded the development and pilot line production of the microwave Schottky-diodes. He dwelt at length on the different applications of microwave techniques and their innovation in the industry. His research interests are sensors, microwave field measurement, low-frequency noise.
He is the member of the Committee of Electronic Devices and Technologies of HAS, the Eoetvoes Lorand Physical Society (Hungary) and the Scientific Society for Telecommunication (Hungary). He serves as Member in the State Examining Body of the Faculty of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of Technical University of Budapest and also as regular referee of the PhD thesis's. He is a registered expert in Hungary and member of the Hungarian Standards Institution.
