John Tattersall PhD

John Tattersall received his BSc in Zoology from the University of Bristol and his PhD in neuroscience from the University of Nottingham. He has conducted research in neuroscience for nearly 30 years, and in bioelectromagnetics for over 12 years. His publication list includes more than 40 scientific papers and 60 conference abstracts. He is a Principal Scientist at the United Kingdom Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the technical authority for the Dstl research programme on the biological effects of electromagnetic fields. A key role of this research programme is to provide advice to the Ministry of Defence on the safe use of electromagnetic fields, particularly pulsed sources which are specific for military applications. John is a member of the International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety, the Bioelectromagnetics Society and the European Bioelectromagnetics Association, as well as the Physiological Society and the Society for Neuroscience. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Southampton.
